Bomb explosion at Mass Rally for Support of Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed

A bomb exploded on Saturday at a massive rally by supporters of Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed. Around 100 people were injured, according to the sources.

The incident happened as Dr Abiy finished speaking to supporters at the Mass Rally at Meskel Square in the capital, Addis Ababa. PM Abiy was quickly escorted off the stage. 

In a televised address shortly after the incident, the Prime Minster appealed for calm and vowed to stay the course despite attempts to undermine his government’s reform agenda.
